With this regulation, the SEC forces brokerage firms to charge a commission fee on all retail trades of stocks and securities, doing so will decrease participation in the stock market from retail investors. This proposed regulation has the potential to be a huge step back for retail investors where brokerage firms charge a commission fee for each trade made, which will likely lower interest from retail investors. Commission-free trading is necessary in making the United States and global stock market more transparent and fair for retail investors. Please do not go forward with this regulation as the SEC should enforce more transparency on the stock market and let retail investors choose a brokerage firm best suited for themselves and their investments.
