I'm Cody Wright, 32, from Ontario. Strongly in support for the proposed guarantee of reporting of swap data. Dad for 9 months, trying to go back to school in September, laid off work while my wife deals with post-partum depression and maternity leave expiring. I participate in the US markets through Questtrade, and Computershare. I haven't even started my intro to macro economics yet. All my education is geared towards the music industry. No formal training at all. I can still tell you a public market needs to have information that's publicly available. Even more importantly, there should be NO EXCEPTIONS. As soon as a piece of information is available to one group and not another, that indicates an unfair and unbalanced market. The already opaque nature of these systems shake ones faith constantly, and yet we still participate in the name of fairness and opportunity. I might be from Canada, with no personal stake beyond financials, but I still find it discomforting that the US Congress saw fit to comment opposed to this rule. Shows a total disconnect from the working reality of their own country. If they are opposing their own constituents, entitled to the same respect and opportunity that the politicians themselves get, then they should not be representing anyone but their own greed.
