There needs to be more transparency in all aspects of the stock market. Swaps are no different. It's not fair or appropriate and counter-intuitive to a 'free and fair market' when institutions and hedge funds can place bets behind the scenes through swaps that significantly impact the market.

Look at what happened with Archegos, and the threat these overleveraged swaps have on the entire market. Guess who has to bail out the big banks when they inevitably fail? yup, the average joe investor foots the bill.

The fact that this is even in question shows how outdated the entire market structure is. If massive changes aren't made to hold large funds and institutions accountable for their risky investments, we're a moment away from financial collapse at all times.
