November 1, 2022 I personally want more data on Large security-based swap positions. Why this isnt available already is absurd. Lets say I have ice cream. And the bank is a cookie maker with a freezer. Well my ice cream (shorts) are going to melt on this summer day (when the stock Im short is increasing in popularity). Were just a few months until winter when my ice cream and calmly not melt and keep its value. So I go to the bank and say hey, Ill give you money to turn this melting ice cream into ice cream sandwiches and store them in your freezer. That way if anyone asks how much ice cream I have on this hot summer day, I can say Zero ice cream here, the retail investors won, carry on and sell your shares move onto the next thing. All the while Im keeping my ice cream (short positions), safely in the ice cream sandwiches (swaps), and safely in a cooler (a place where the public is not privy to the information of what those swaps contain) Do you see where Im going with this? Make this data transparent and reportable or this will continue and if it does, what will they say about the SEC? How much longer can you let clever institutions blatantly disregard the very thing youre agency is here to uphold?
