I support the SEC proposition of position reporting of large security based swaps. Greater transparency leads to a more fair market where all participants have an equal chance to gain financially. The nature of the OTC swap market, as it stands, has provided an anonymous forum for individuals and institutions with insider information to profit at the expense of those without said information. The current structure has lead to a market landscape fraught with insider trading and fraud. This proposition will allow the SEC to better perform its job of protecting investors from these perils and fighting the existing imbalance of information.
