I believe that allowing voting rights to individuals and entities who do not own traditional shares defeats the purpose of stock ownership. Unless derivative have been exercised in time for voting to occur. Granting rights to derivative holder will dilute the voting power of actual shareholders who invest in and support companies they choose. This proposed rule seems to be one sided in supporting institutional investors and groups over most individuals.
