I am an emergency medicine physician and have a basic understanding of finance. In the past year I have been putting a much larger effort towards understanding how our markets work and have been very disheartened by the needlessly complex system that has been built. The lack of transparency built into the multitude of layers of trading is disheartening at best and criminal at worst. I fully support any and all rules that will bring more transparency to our markets to allow for fair price discovery and the success or failure of companies based on real practices not malicious trading practices based soley on greed.
