Regarding GameStop stock - GME , it has been an interesting year since the first major run up January 28th before the buy button was removed and short hedgefunds, and brokerages were permitted to manipulate the price lower to meet their financial requirements.
In this year Ive witnessed extremely concerning instances in the market. Naked short selling has run rampant , married puts used to satisfy ftd requirements and hide short interest percentage, paid actors defaming every publication of GameStop, and the main stream media showing who they work for. Besides this a handful of politicians and regulatory actors have shown who they work for as well.
The faith in the us market is at an all time low because 95% of orders go to dark pool wholesalers. The entire market is working based on the whim of a few extremely rich institutions , and follow absolutely no fundamentals we were brought up to believe.
The penalty for abusive naked short selling should be a felony requiring jail time. The penalty for failing to satisfy failure to delivers should be the cost of the stock, and a forced buy on the lit exchange. Hedgefunds need to be held accountable for robbing the American public , and legislators need to be held accountable for allowing this to happen.
Please do the right thing, its apparent to many people, internationally and domestic , that the markets are completely broken and designed to serve the very few at the top. I have almost no faith that any regulatory body is still working towards fixing this, and this is the final step towards totalitarianism. If game stop is not allowed price discovery, and the short hedgefunds arent required to ever close their position, the damage done to the markets will be irreparable.
The world is watching , you have the ability to enforce the rules youve set in place , please do the right thing.
I understand the implications of an infinite short squeeze which is what you are trying to deal with right now. I do not want our economy destroyed by this. What I do want to see is the correct bankers, and hedgefund managers are jailed and held accountable for their greedy and risky behavior. We the investors of GameStop , the American public, and international investors deserve a resolution to this issue.
It will not be swept under the rug this time .
I do not wish for an infinite short squeeze but I do wish we are paid our dues. Funds held overseas by hedgefunds must be confiscated and paid to the game stop investors to close the abusive short positions legislators and regulators have allowed short hedgefunds such as melvin, Susquehanna , point72, and citadel to make.
Theyve risked our countries livelyhood and created a delicate situation that may end In riots putting all of us at risk.
You know better than I what is currently at stake. Please do the right thing and pay out the massively shorted stocks. For once , this money will be put in circulation invigorating our economy instead of being stashed away on a Caribbean island.
