Several years ago, I started trading with US stock with my broker in Sweden. I knew there was some manipulation in the stock market in US, but what I have seen within the last year is plain crime. Market Makers and Hedge Funds have total control on the market, and retail is being lie to. Usage of dark pools, naked shorting, high frequency trading, usage of main stream media to tip the balance to either side, ladder attacks, all of these being used in plain sight, in a daily basis and nobody doing anything about it.This is not \"Free Market\" as I expected to be. The institutions CAN'T \"self regulate\", PFOF IS NOT benefit for retail. The world is watching, and the outcome of all of how these manipulations are handled will have a breakthrough effect for the US equity market in the coming years for sure.
