I'm not an American citizen. But even so I still wanted to make a small comment on this proposed rule change. Generally the U.S financial markets have far-reaching global effects, and personally I myself hold stocks on U.S stock exchanges.
I believe it is pivotal for this proposed rule change to be passed and implemented as soon as possible. It is no longer a secret about what is going on behind closed doors in the U.S financial system, where the entire thing seems built to service only the rich and powerful.
It is not a fair system, and this rule in particular will help bring transparency and fairness back to the markets. It is clear Security-Based Swaps are being abused and allowing malicious actors to hide their positions, and stop them from being reflected on the Lit Markets, and subsequently in stock prices.
This is a widespread issue, and this proposed rule change is one in a long list of the many needed to rectify the financial markets.
