The SEC holding a public comment period on a rule to decide whether or not we make fraud illegal in the marketplace, is a very telling truth about the current reality of those marketplaces.
As an individual retail investor, I am fully in favor of this rule.
Beyond that I demand to see sweeping reform over the enforcement/accountability/punishments for those who have criminally defrauded the markets to begin with.
The financial crimes that has been recently exposed for all to see has destroyed my confidence in the ability to participate in a true and fair marketplace. I am not sure how my faith in our markets will ever be earned back, but rules such as this are at least a baby step in the right direction.
