February 3, 2023 Why are broker-dealers being prevented from sending stock purchases and sales directly through NYSE, lit exchanges, where proper price discovery can happen? Why are dark markets associated with hedge funds shorting stocks allowed to pay to funnel and process stock transactions on those same stocks in a dark pool where there is no proper price discovery? We need transparency on all stock trades. When buying a stock hoping it will go up in price we should not be forced to submit our buy orders through a dark market, owned or associated with a hedgefund betting against the same stock, where they set the price without transparency.
