January 31, 2023 Its cleat that there have been enough complains and frustrations around flow disappearing from exchanges. One very simple way to solve this problem would be to have all stakeholders(including exchanges, dark pools, internalizer and so on) involved follow the same tick-size regime. That is a stock that is trading with tick size of 1 cent on exchange should not be allowed to be traded at 0.5 cents elsewhere. This simple fix will naturally fix a lot of complains bringing exchanges to a level field with internalizes to begin with. I think its a no brainer to have this rule implemented.
