There’s no reason a $200,000 income should be required to invest in small companies pre-IPO. We are in an age of information where plenty of performance data is available for your average citizen to make intelligent investments in small companies. Engineers such as myself shouldn’t be barred from investing in technology companies whose products have demonstrable performance while wealthy hedge funds and investment bankers are able to do so.
