A quick comemnt to suggest the uptick rule should be re-established.While you are diligencing some of the activities of hedge funds, look at how they put their short positions on. If they wish to sell 100,000 shares short, do they try to do it in one block at the highest price or do they do it in 10,000 and 25,000 share blocks and do not care as much about the price. This will tell you their intent and the uptick rule makes that damaging and wreckless activity impossible.
