Investors need a full range of investment vehicles to be able to reach their goals. Current rules already bar many (most) retail investors from accessing hedge funds or other protective strategies if they are not "Accredited Investors." ETFs such as the leveraged and inverse funds offered by ProShares and others allow smaller investors to take advantage of these strategies with much less risk. Without this type of easy to understand fund, investors either have to rely on market timing, or options to help protect their portfolios, both of which contain much more risk.

I urge that the proposed changes to the current rules not be made, so that additional burdens are not placed on individual investors.
