I have invested in leveraged and inverse funds for years. They offer the average investor an easy and simple way to leverage long positions without the complications and expense of using margins or worrying about margin calls. The fund manager takes on these tasks. The average investor can also short the market without the intricacies of resorting to options. Access to these funds allows small investors increased flexibility and the use of tools the big investors employ. I highly value the freedom of choice our country affords its citizens. Our government should not interfere and disadvantage individual investors this way.
