Rule Comments,
As a stockholder and as a resident of Virginia, I have been able to personally observe the impact shareholder proposals can make on corporations. Although it may take years of presenting the same proposal, I have seen support rise from 2% in the first year to over 50%. I also have been able to observe the absurd steps corporations take to 'protect' their boards from shareholder opinions. At a recent Dominion Energy meeting, they installed heavy curtains over the walkway windows so that protesters could not even be seen by the board members. Limiting input to the bug guys, taints and skews the information board members receive on important issues like environmental impact, labor standards and the relationship of worker to CEO pay, to name a few. Please do not silence these voices.
