Rule Comments,
I am an educator living in Cullowhee, North Carolina, and my retirement investments are in a mutual fund with a large company; that is, I'm something of a "Main Street investor." I'm writing because proposed changes to SEC rules, if implemented, would make it harder to submit shareholder proposals at company annual meetings. As you know, shareholder proposals are investors' one option for pressing companies to act more responsibly on important social policy issues. Working people like me are invested in these companies through our retirement savings, and we depend on shareholder proposals as our only option for holding corporate CEOs accountable. Please don't make it any harder to do this than it already is.
Thanks for considering my input.
