As a retail investor, insider information is never available to us. Law makers and congress have first hand and sight on information that moves markets. With such powerful info accessible to them should, without a doubt, not have the ability to make money off the changes they are making or hearing about. Congress are public servants and should not have the incentive to change laws and making millions off private knowledge not available to the public. I absolutely agree with preventing insider trading of any sort, especially from congress.
