To Whom It May Concern:
I would like this rule to be implemented so that retail investors can know which stocks are shorted and by whom. My explanation is below:
Several years ago, before I realized what the stock market was all about, I invested money into numerous startup biotech firms. Few stocks were profitable but most stocks became worthless. In the past year, I have learned, through the GameStop debacle, that the stock market is controlled by large hedge funds, market makers, and investment groups. By studying the stock price movements of those previous investments in biotech stocks, I came to a realization: companies whose stocks are targeted for short selling will eventually fail.
Therefore, it would benefit retail to know which stocks are shorted and by whom because I and likely others will not invest in those companies.
