October 31, 2022 Share lending should be transparent and updated publicly as often as technologically possible ideally to the second. Lending of shares is a big red flag that a security is being shorted and massive short positions on a security point to, at best, downward sentiment by large corporations and hedge funds that have many advantages over retail traders and, at worst, illegal practices that point to a concerted effort to push prices down. Any information about a security should be available to anyone at no cost or the playing field is not fair and balanced.
