Retail has long been lied to in regards to the stock market. There may be fine print which states what is really happening but on the surface we are lied to into believing that we ever truly own stocks. Truth is we don't.

On top of that we, for the most part, are completely oblivious to the fact that brokers can use these stocks against us, hurt our investments, and loan out shares for the purpose of stocks.

Broker dealers, institutions, etc ... then have the ability to not disclose this information publicly for WEEKS. This needs to change. It is unacceptable for retail to be sold a bill of goods that we never own AND never tell us what they are doing with OUR investment. 15 minute reporting AND daily disclosure (at a minimum) should be the appropriate route.
