S7-18-21 has been long overdue. Though predatory naked short selling has been illegal in the USA since the financial crisis of 2008, I have seen evidence that the tactic is still prevalent.
I believe, that with less opacity into the systems, it will become apparent that many less than savory institutions have manipulated existing investment vehicles to create illegal naked short shares.
If I am wrong, then the financial players in question, specifically those that are against this proposed rule should have nothing to fear. Regardless, if S7-18-22 passes into regulation, US markets become stronger and safer for it.
Please, do the right thing. Protect those that believe in the US markets, but fear the abusive nature of specific institutions that prey on the people.
