As an individual investor, I am excited about the new transparency rules requiring ETFs to disclose their holdings and other information.
However in the interest of usability, I would like to request that there be a consistent format or minimum requirements for the data that is provided. For example, the holdings data must include at a minimum information such as ticker, weighting, etc. I have been on several ETF issuer websites and all of the holding data is in different formats, and several of them do not even include the underlying ticker for the holding. Or they include the market value of the holdings, but no weighting percentage.
I believe a consistent format with a few required fields (ticker, weight, etc.) would be very beneficial to the investing public.
