I object to the recent proposal to allow mutual fund companies to develope new funds without commissions built in. Therefore, giving broker dealers the option to add on thier own fees. The purpose of this bill would promote competion on fees at the BD level. It would do that. However, an unintended outcome would result because of this. Bd's are going to focus more and more on large accounts. THerefore, the small or midsized investor who needs planning the most is not going to get it. Bd's will only offer those services to the larger accounts. You will end up with small and midsized investors who are not being offered the investment advice they need to make sound decisions.
