Don't go over the top with requiring a 20-30% down payment on home loans. What are the future young homeowners going to do have to do to get that when they are coming out of college, getting a job, paying back student loans etc. It will take them years to save enough money for that amount of down payment. Just qualify people for the home loan don't punish them for wanting the american dream.
