I wholly support this proposal. In the past we've learnt what 'giving the market the opportunity to flesh out' such statements means: It did and currently still does lead to fraud, deception and manipulation of the broader markets. Especially broker-dealers, market makers and prime brokers should carry their assets with full transparency.
Especially nowadays swaps and most notably derivates seem very troubling for the economy, when being (ab)used and in overleveraged manners.
