Hello,
It is unclear on the web site where the public should submit comments on policies of the S.E.C. If this is the wrong place - I apologize. Please reply and tell me where to send my comments. I think the new policy on incentive pay that the S.E.C. has started is a great start. Please do not dilute it. As a person outside of the banking industry (Radiologist), I find it appauling what these bankers are being paid while funding and reimbursement for health care - a basic human right - is being cut every year. There was an article on the cover of the Wall Street Journal in 2007 or 2008 about a banker at Goldman Sachs who left because he wasn't being paid what he was worth (in his own opinion). His compensation that year was 57million - incredible. If anything, please go further - put the money to good societal use. Don't worry about the so called "brain drain on Wall Street", it has been happening in medicine for the past decade and people are still getting excellent care (despite declining reimbursement).
Sincerely,
Paul Blom, MD
