I’m writing to urge that banker/Wall Street pay practices be reformed. As a retired person on a fixed income, I am suffering because of the economic collapse of 2008.
While many retired people have not seen cost of living adjustments, Wall Street executives have been handed many millions of dollars each for damaging the economy for the rest of us. It is inhumane and unethical.
With the influence Wall Street has with political representatives, I am terrified that this practice will continue.
Please do what is needed to delay the bonuses for at least five or seven years, . That way, we’ll know if the loans they made in year one remain good. Bankers should be paid based on the quality of the loans they generate, not on the volume of loans (mortgages) generated.
Thank you for considering my comment,
