I’m writing because people I love were affected by the economic crisis of 2008, and I don’t want it to happen again.
We need to prioritize the long-term interests of stakeholders over the short-term interests of stockholders and corporate managers. This is extremely urgent and needs to be codified and regulated. The future of the American and global economies, and thus the futures of millions of working families, depend on the reforms you establish.
Wall Street institutions are more concentrated, and thus more dangerous, than ever before. Unless we break up the mega-banks into smaller institutions, our next crisis is going to be worse than the last.
