Dear Commissioner Gary Gensler,

My family has been farming the family ranch for over 100 years. We grow nut trees and rice in the Sacramento valley of California. It would not be an easy or obvious task to provide Scope 3 technical assessments concerning emissions. Farmers in California have to meet expensive regulatory requirements in California to improve operations and equipment.

There may be very large corporate farms that have a staff of technical advisors who can easily make these evaluations, but that is not true for most of the smaller family farms.

Does the SEC believe that each family farm has the technical expertise and financial resources to provide this information?

Sincerely,

Lynn Chiapella

Regards,
