Dear Commissioner Gary Gensler,

My family have been farmers for more than 6 generations. I am writing to provide comments and perspective on the Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposed rule on the Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.

Farms are already heavily regulated by multiple agencies at the local, state and the federal level. This proposed rule is just another example of overreach by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Because we are the start of the food chain, this proposed rule's focus on the value chain for climate-related risks and impacts under Scope 3 will place a disproportionate burden on family farms to provide unknown costs.

Farms are our nation's original environmentalists, and are a leading role in climate sustainability. I believe it is the responsibility of our elected lawmakers to work with industry on new policies that will affect our ability to continue to provide food to our nation and the world. I don't believe this is the role or jurisdiction of the SEC.

Thank you for your consideration.

Regards,
Sarah Black
