Regarding the SEC proposed rule for Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors. The EPA governance on this matter of greenhouse gas emissions is the only branch of government given any authority by Congress to regulate and monitor our environment. The SEC has no authority granted to it to regulate non-regulated businesses. The reporting of climate-related information of companies that are not regulated by EPA is a serious over reach by a non- elected branch of government. There are many businesses that are not directly affected by the EPA rules and regulations that would be asked to somehow quantify an unknown. This is one of the most useless rules formed by a beurocracy that was not set up for this purpose by Congress. SEC has absolutely no business being involved in environmental regulation.
Thank You
