May 26, 2022 It is critical that the SEC requires climate related disclosures of publicly traded companies. For far too long companies have been able to push the negative externalities of their actions onto the public with little to no repercussions. Requiring companies to disclose this information will allow the public to understand what these companies are doing, how it will affect the public, and as relevant to the financial interest of investors, be accurately able to gauge the real risk of investment given the sobering climate crisis the world will face in the coming decades.
