May 24, 2022 Disclosures about the pollution of our air, water and soil by the fossil fuel industry and contamination of our foods by agricultural chemicals industry have been known for over 40 years. But well-funded corporate interests made sure the public was duped into thinking such disclosures were scare tactics by liberals. Tragically, due to the influence of lobbyists fueled by Citizens United funds, corrupt politicians looked the other way and valuable time in the battle to save our environment was lost. There is still time, however, if enough Americans, often led by young environmentalists, continue to speak out and demand planet-saving action immediately, we may still have time to take us back from the brink of extinction.
