Dear Chair Gary Gensler,

I support for Proposed Rule S7-10-22: Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors, though I find it a minimal action.

Climate change shall cause instability and disruption in financial and economic systems. Implementation and enforcement of this rule will give investors like me the tools to try to protect investments, hold companies accountable for their actions, and possibly change operations to reduce climate-harming practices.

I am glad to see the SEC for exercising its mandate to ensure that investors and the public have access to science-based information about risks that could affect their investments. Having data about the likely effects of climate change on companies’ assets and long-term business outlook is essential for investors to make informed decisions.

Please pass a strong climate disclosure rule as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Ms. Ruth Phinney
