***May 11, 2022 I am for these proposed rule changes. It is widely understood by expert scientific consensus that the effects of climate change pose an existential threat to businesses, human populations, and ecosystems. See IPCC Reports, etc. Because of the grave nature of the threat of climate change, investors and shareholders need to be able to gauge the preparedness level of each publicly traded company. This risk needs to be analyzed, and that analysis included on public disclosures. The proposed rules are a good start but do not go far enough. I would additionally like to see a strict verification process for verifying GHG emission claims. Omissions and falsehoods regarding claimed GHG emissions in company reports should be able to be penalized severely so that compliance is assured. ***
