 I think, as part of the proposed climate disclosures, companies should be required to disclose information that is available about the future date it is estimated that the world will run out of oil.  It is a near enough possibility that we should be planning for it.  Companies should discuss what that would mean for their future.  To my mind, that's a more consequential event than climate change.  If we run out of oil without a comparably efficient and cheap alternative, we go back to a pre-industrial economy, particularly if we can't make fertilizers.  That is something important to think about and to plan for.  All companies should report this because we all need to be aware of it, it will impact us all and, if everyone's doing it, we'll all likely hear about this looming event.
