Dear SEC, I am a young engineer working to enable a decarbonized grid. I'm writing to thank you for the leadership you've shown in proposing climate-related disclosures. I support this disclosure rule, for the following reasons: It promotes transparency that can accelerate decarbonization. It reduces the effectiveness of greenwashing. It fits cleanly within the SEC's mission. Carbon emissions are a well-known externality; their harms are not reflected in our economic system. Emissions disclosure is an effective way to increase awareness, management, and responsiveness to companies' climate risks. This is critical to the "fair, orderly, and efficient markets" the SEC aims to foster. Best, Austin
