To Whom It May Concern:

As a global citizen, I am aware of the effects of climate change. It has been known that some large fossil fuel corporations have known about the effects of carbon dioxide (CO2) on our climate for decades. Meanwhile, they sat on important research.

Experts agree that most of our fossil fuels must remain in the ground if we are to meet the net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050. In fact, it is estimated that our CO2 budget is approximately 300 billion tons of CO2 equivalents before we reach 1.5 degree Celsius. Since 50 billion tons of CO2 equivalents are produced annually, it could take approximately 6 years to reach 1.5 degrees Celsius. Extreme weather, droughts, wildfires, food insecurity, mass deaths, etc. are just some of the outcomes of current climate change, and the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report states that these events and others will only get worse.

Corporations producing fossil fuels don't benefit from reduction in fossil fuels. As mentioned, some corporations have already hidden data. Only regulations that hold corporations responsible will keep them honest. I support disclosures.
