Dear Chair Gary Gensler,

This letter expresses my strong and urgent support for Proposed Rule S7-10-22: Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.

All my life I have worked to find companies to support who have ethical and environmentally positive business practices. This is incredibly difficult to do. Now with the Climate Emergency, it is imperative that ALL investors and citizens understand which companies are working towards a secure future for all of us. Without action, climate change is likely to disrupt our financial and economic systems very negatively. The implementation and enforcement of a strong rule will give investors like me the tools we need to protect our investments and hold companies accountable for reducing heat-trapping emissions.

I applaud the SEC - exercising its mandate to ensure that investors and the public have access to science-based information about risks that could affect their investments is necessary and vital to all of us. Climate change will have far-reaching impacts across our society and having data about its likely effects on companies’ assets and long-term business outlook is essential for investors to make informed decisions and protect the well-being of our economy.

Please pass a strong climate disclosure rule as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Terry Brownfield
