Dear Chair Gary Gensler,

I am an attorney in Washington State and my reason for writing is to express my support for Proposed Rule S7-10-22: Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.

I am very alarmed by the "Greed is good" attitude of so many businesses. It is clear that if we don't act immediately, our world will irrevocably change for the worst. Climate change will lead to significant instability and disruption in our financial and economic systems. I am convinced that implementation and enforcement of a strong rule will give investors and others the necessary tools needed to protect our world and it will also hold companies accountable for reducing heat-trapping emissions.

I applaud the SEC for exercising its mandate to ensure that investors and the public have access to science-based information about risks that could affect their investments. There is no doubt that climate change will have far-reaching impacts across our society and the entire world. Having access to data about the effects of climate change with regard to various businesses is essential for investors and potential investors to make informed decisions and to protect the well-being of the economy.

Please pass a strong climate disclosure rule as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Cheryl Mitchell
