Dear Chair Gary Gensler,

I am writing to express our support for the Proposed Rule S7-10-22: Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors.

Climate change is on track to be a crisis that will create significant instability and disruption in all aspects of out lives. I believe in the implementation and enforcement of a strong rule which will give investors like me the tools we need to protect our investments and hold companies accountable for reducing heat-trapping emissions.

The catastrophic effects of this crisis have been subtle so far but they’re apt to turn dramatically worse very rapidly. No longer can we, the investors, the Nation, tolerate the froth and fluff as dispensed by Green Washing corporate PR. What we need is hard and fast data as generated by a critical standardized, science-based protocol. Then let’s see the Free Market effectively disincentivize those who are exasperating the crisis while we can support those with beneficial long term goals and actions that work towards a sustainable, secure environment / economy in which we, as a nation, can all thrive with economic, political, and social stability.

Please pass a strong climate disclosure rule as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Dr and Mr. Charles Hoot
