Dear SEC, My name is Nicholas Johnson, and I am writing to in support of your pending consideration “The Enhancement and Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors”. I work currently in the field of environmental reporting and Sustainability audits for a German/British Firm. Additionally, I have been working on building my own brand and small business, doing roughly the same thing. These industries are already growing fast enough that there is a near open-ended demand for new work and businesses in this field, and, for the US to have any chance to make up ground in this field (which has been previously lost to several Western European countries), the US must take active steps to generate massive amounts of captured data across the finance industry. In addition to the US’s recovered leadership in this field, quantifying lost gains due to climate change will finally provide companies with real numbers exploring the full extent of the climate change issue which we face. If we want to motivate reluctant individuals and businesses, we need to be measuring the true extent of the issue. That which is measured is managed.
