I write in support of requiring that companies estimate the impact of climate change on their revenues and profitability, and make that information available to investors. Our system of finance works best when capital is wisely invested, and the true cost of climate change is taken into account. Companies are in the best position to evaluate the costs of climate change, and must not keep that information from investors. Well meaning government action on climate change is very helpful, but our response to perils of climate change will only become robust when the true costs of climate change are revealed and market forces respond. The quality of life for our descendants depend on actions we take now. Let fair pricing lead to a better outcome for them.
