I urge the SEC to adopt this ruling as written. Please do not be deterred by the protests of self-interested corporations. If they argue the costs are too great, please think of the costs we and future humans will pay if we do not act swiftly and decisively to track carbon emissions and in so doing be better informed in order to reduce the harm being done to the atmosphere. Climate change is upon us. There will be dire consequences, but there is still time to mitigate some of those. Please act in the interest of your children and grandchildren, and mine, and in the best interest of the future of humanity and the earth. I submit this plea respectfully and in gratitude for your attention, time, work and effort.
