I am concerned about this proposed rule and I do not believe it will add any information of value to an investor. I am especially concerned about the additional burdens to be placed on publicly traded companies, and believe it will further limit my and other retail investors options for investing. Over the past two decades the number of publicly traded companies has continued to decline, and the cost and burden of going public has increased. This has led to fewer and fewer publicly traded companies I can access and invest in, while more and more choose to remain private and can only be accessed by high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors. If the SEC wants to protect us, it should not make rules that have little bearing on financial markets and stop creating rules that encourage some companies to stay out of the public market.
