11. What else would you like us to know positive or negative - about your experience with online trading and investing?
I was not investing prior to having my online account with the exception of having a 401k at one point. Since gaining an online account I have spent lots of time learning about stocks and the market. So far I am of the opinion that the market is largely manipulated by market makers, hedge funds, and banks, and that an average investor does not have the ability to have fair trades in a fair market. The value of investors money is being stolen by these entities through dark pools and price manipulation by naked short selling causing the prices in lit exchanges to not reflect the true value of shares. Until there is real regulation in the market and the rules cannot be skirted, bent, or ignored by the wealthy and powerful and there are fines and jail time that match the level of crimes committed by wall street I have no real faith in the market. A majority of people are starting to se the ruse and the lie that is wall street and the amount of money and in turn we are seeing our futures being stolen from us and people are waking up to the game. What we need is an SEC that can dish out real enforcement and protect everyone who is investing in the market. Failure to do so will result in complete loss of faith in the American economy in the future and put this country on a path of destabilization and possibly losing Americas status as the reserve currency and losing standing in the world at large. It's time to make the American dream possible again.
