11. What else would you like us to know positive or negative - about your experience with online trading and investing?
I was very disappointed in the events that occurred in January involving GameStop and the other meme stocks that were halted only one way. Im concerned that major brokerages and hedge funds have extreme amounts of power over the market that are not properly kept in check. I owned GameStop stock when the Buy button was taken away and I feel I lost out on an incredible opportunity that day because the smart money was losing and did not want to be beaten or bested by dumb money. Ever since that day it is clear that major funds are able to manipulate stocks and force the price of a security in the direction that best fits themselves. Millions of retail investors have done hours upon hours of research to provide evidence of the illegal tactics that large hedge funds use, yet nothing has been done, nor has any governing body such as the SEC even acknowledged that this evidence is being brought up. It is so clear to me that our free market can be manipulated and rigged at any moment and nothing will be done to stop it. It honestly saddens me to think about it and I dont see myself investing in the stock market anymore in the near future if something doesnt change.
